Director Barbet Schroeder is set tostart work on Inju in September forFrench producers SBS Films and La Fabrique de Films.

SBS is run by Said Ben Said of UGCInternational which will start sales on the project at Cannes this year.

Inju stars Benoit Magimel and is based on a novel by Edogawa Rampo. The$15mn film is a modern-day thriller set in Kyoto about a French novelist whogets involved in shady operations when he travels to Japan to accept a prize.

UGC International is also bringing La Tete De Maman toCannes. The $9 (7m Euros) film stars Karin Viard and Pascal Elbe and is produced byMerry Christmas'Christophe Rossignon.

Black Sun will also be unveiled. A French-Italian co-production, film is budgetedat Euros 3mn and stars Valeria Golino directed by Krzysztof Zanussi.

On the rest of UGC's line up is ClaudeMiller's Un Secretstarring Ludivine Sagnier, Patrick Bruel, Julie Depardieu, Cecile de France andMathieu Amalric. Film is currently shooting.

Julie Depardieu is also starring inAndre Techine's UGC title Witnesses currently shooting with Michel Blanc and Emmanuelle Beart.

Meanwhile Guillaume Nicloux's Stone Council,starring Monica Bellucci is in post-production and Family Hero from Thierry Kilfastarring Catherine Deneuve and Gerard Lanvin will be released at Christmas.
