December 23 has been set as the date for Alexander Sokurov's one-shot, 90-minute film Waterloo - The Russian Ark which will be filmed at original locations in the State Hermitage Museum of St. Petersburg, tracing.key events in the former Tsarist Empire from Catherine the Great to Nicolas II.

German steady-cam specialist Tilman Buettner, who worked with Tom Tykwer on Run Lola Run, will serve as DoP on this one uninterrupted shot which is being produced by Berlin-based Egoli Tossell Film with The Hermitage Bridge Studio, KoppFilm and Martin Scorsese's Cappa Productions, with Celluloid Dreams handling world sales.

Meanwhile, another Egoli Tossell Film production, Judith Keil and Antje Kruska's documentary Queens Of Dust (Der Glanz Von Berlin), which premiered at the International Hof Film Days at the end of October and was picked up for theatrical release by Pegasos Film, is understood to have been selected for screening in the Berlinale's new Perspective German Cinema sidebar.
