Scottish companies CinéFile and Distrify partner up

Edinburgh based boutique distributor CinéFile has teamed up with Scottish film promotion and distribution service Distrify, to allow its content to become more accessible on the internet.

Announcing the partnership in Cannes, Allison Gardner, one of the directors of CineFile alongside Ilona Morison and Richard Mowe, said: “It is wonderful to be working with another Scottish-based company to give wider audiences access to our range of titles.”

CineFile’s titles include Pot Luck, Russian Dolls, The Hedgehog and Conversations With My Gardener.

Distrify’s direct-to-audience VOD system allows distributors and filmmakers to set their content free across the internet to be shared and bought wherever the audience discovers the trailer.

Gardner, who is also a co-director of the Glasgow Film Festival also unveiled CinéFile’s latest acquisitions set for UK theatrical release shortly: Philippe Le Guay’s hit comedy The Women on the 6th Floor and Robert Guédiguian’s The Snows of Kilimandjaro, winner of the prestigious LUX Prize awarded by the European Parliament.

Earlier this week in Cannes, Distrify revealed that it is teaming with Creative Scotland on a website dedicated to Scottish films.
