In a significant restructure of Screen’s editorial department, deputy editor Louise Tutt is stepping down from her post into a freelance role, while head of news Wendy Mitchell has taken on new responsibilities as head of content.

Tutt, who has been at Screen for 16 years, will continue to contribute to the brand in both editing and writing capacities and indeed will take on a contributing editor title.

Mitchell, who joined Screen in 2005, was most recently head of news, overseeing the news operation on ScreenDaily.com and Screen market dailies. She now assumes responsibility for all news and feature content across both print and online platforms.

Tutt joined Screen in 1995 as a reporter and held titles including deputy features editor and features editor before being named deputy editor in 2005.

“Louise’s contribution to Screen has been incalculable and I am sad to see her leave,” said Screen editor Mike Goodridge, “but I am glad that we are not losing her entirely. She will continue to contribute her wealth of experience and knowledge to the brand.”

“I am excited to restructure the team under Wendy Mitchell who has proved herself more than capable of running the news and online content and who will now be making decisions and commissions across both print and online platforms.”

Henceforth, Mitchell will be the point of contact for all news and features in Screen; reporter Sarah Cooper will step up to support her on the features side in a new role as senior writer and features coordinator.
