Screen's UK Marketing & Distribution Awards unveils prestigious jury

Jurors joining Lord Puttnam include Roland Emmerich, Amanda Berry, Nik Powell, and Sally Caplan.

Screen International is pleased to announce the lineup of judges for its inaugural UK Marketing & Distribution Awards set to take place at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel in London on Oct 5.
 
As previously announced, Lord Puttnam is chair of the 13-person jury which will decide winners in 14 categories including UK Distributor Of The Year.
 
Joining Puttnam are:
 
Mark Adams, Screen’s reviews editor and chief film critic
 
Trevor Beattie, founder and executive creative director of creative advertising agency Beattie McGuinness Bungay (BMB) London
 
Amanda Berry, chief executive of BAFTA
 
Sally Caplan, former head of the UK Film Council’s Premiere Fund and a long term acquisitions and distribution executive
 
Roland Emmerich, film-maker behind blockbuster hits such as Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow and 2012.
 
Charles Gant, film critic, analyst and film editor, Heat
 
Sandra Hebron, artistic director of the BFI London Film Festival
 
Nik Powell, director, National Film & Television School and former producer and distributor
 
Julian Senior, former head of European regional Advertising & Publicity, Warner Bros
 
Jason Solomons, film critic & writer, The Observer
 
Mark Waites, founder and executive creative director of creative advertising agency Mother London
 
Neil Watson, adviser & researcher, Signature Media
 
“We are thrilled with the caliber of participants in this year’s jury,” said Screen editor Mike Goodridge. “We have gathered talented executives from the world of film and advertising, journalists, curators and insititutional heads not to mention the hit film-maker Roland Emmerich to judge our entrants.  We are excited that, under Lord Puttnam’s aegis, the discussion will be lively and informed.”
