Dutch film-maker Gert de Graaf picked up the main prize at the International Documentary Filmfestival Amsterdam (Nov 21-29), for The Sea That Thinks. The film is the dramatised tale of a screenwriter trying to unravel his own plot.

The Special Jury Award went to David Shapiro and Laurie Gwen Shapiro for Keep The River On Your Right: A Modern Cannibal Tale. Montheith McCollum's Hybrid took the FIPRESCI award, while the Audience Award went to Dutch documentary Dei, by Maria Ramos.

The festival continues to grow, drawing 1,409 guests from more than 50 countries to the 13th edition and its Forum market.
