The online contest will offer two concurrent short film awards including the Judge’s Award and Fans Favorite award exclusively to students.

The panel of judges includes Win Win and Sideways producer Michael London, Lethal Weapon franchise and Iron Man 3 writer Shane Black and Hotel Rwanda writer Keir Pearson.

The fan favorite competition will allow viewers to vote in each round for their favorite filmmaker in the style of American Idol.

SeeFlik offers $50,000 in prize money along with a winner’s showcase for talent agencies and studios as well as various marketing and promotional initiatives.

“Tens of thousands of emerging artists and filmmakers graduate from college each year and have few options other than the traditional film festivals to have their voices heard,” SeeFlik CEO Larry Meli said.

“Now, for the first time, SeeFlik will provide an online showcase and film festival for their work and give them an opportunity to fast forward their careers and become the next great filmmaker. SeeFlik will become the ‘farm system’ for the entertainment industry and we are proud to be able to assist these great talented, and as of yet unrecognised artists.”
