With theannouncement of a host, new venue and, for the first time, a live broadcast byRTE, the final elements of the programme for the Irish Film & TelevisionAwards have been put in place for November 5.

Leadingthe pack with seven nominations is local low budget feature Trouble With Sexfollowed closely by Irish/German co-production Short Order, and the Venice and Torontoselection Pavee Lackeen.

Northern Ireland actor James Nesbitt will hostthe event for the third year running, at a larger venue - Dublin's RDS -indicating the growing scale of the occasion.This year's lifetime achievement award will be given to veteran actorDavid Kelly, an alumnus of classic British TV series Fawlty Towers whosecareer was revitalised by a leading role in WakingNed and who most recently appeared as Grandpa Joe in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The awardnominees cover a broad spectrum of locally produced films together withinternational work by Irish actors and senior technicians. The nominees forbest film are Mickybo & Me, TheMighty Celt, Pavee Lackeen,Tara Road and Trouble With Sex. The nominees for best director are Anthony Byrnefor Short Order, Fintan Connolly for Trouble WithSex, Terry George for Hotel Rwanda, and Perry Ogden for PaveeLackeen.

Ogden is alsoa nominee in the Irish Film Board and Northern Ireland Film & TelevisionCommission's Breakthrough Award, along with Terry Loanefor Mickybo & Me, and Daniel O'Hara and Martin McDonagh for their respective short films, Fluent Dysphasia and Six Shooter.
