US independent distributorShadow Distribution has acquired Megan Mylan and Jon Shenk's acclaimeddocumentary Lost Boys Of Sudan,which was shortlisted for the Academy Award and has been nominated for anIFP/Independent Spirit Award.

The story follows twoSudanese orphaned refugees who overcome lion attacks and militia gunfire toreach America, where they are confronted with suburbia and alienation.

The film is due to open onFeb 18 at the Film Forum in New York City and on Mar 12 in Los Angeles andWashington DC and will roll out nationally from March to May.

"Shadow is very excited tobe working with Megan and Jon to bring this remarkable and truly important filmto theatres across the country," Shadow president Ken Eisen said in astatement.

"We are thrilled to be workingwith Shadow Distribution," the co-directors added. "They have such a greatreputation in the industry that we feel confident Lost Boys Of Sudan has found the perfect home."

Partnering with Shadow onhis first release is veteran programmer and marketer Andrew Mencher, vicepresident of the Key Sunday Cinema Club.

Shadow Distribution'scredits includes Ken Loach's Carla's Song, Huo Jianqi's Postmen In The Mountains, Ildiko Enyedi's Magic Hunter, and Paul Wagner's Windhorse.
