Adam Curtis, Nick Broomfield, Molly Dineen and John Akomfrah are amongst the film-makers who will be appearing at next month’s Sheffield Doc/Fest.
Documentary film-maker Adam Curtis will be discussing the inspiration behind his latest documentary All Watched Over By Machines Of Loving Grace.
Nick Broomfield, Leonard Retel Helmrich, Steve James and Morgan Spurlock, who will be in Sheffield to introduce his documentary Pom Wonderful: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold which opens Doc/Fest on June 8, will all be giving film-maker masterclasses during the festival.
John Akomfrah, whose latest documentary The Nine Muses will be screening at the festival, will also be giving a masterclass.
Following the success of The King’s Speech, Bedlam Productions’ Gareth Unwin and Simon Egan will examine how the demand for history films often results in documentaries that become dramas.
Andrew Palmer, Will Anderson and Zam Baring of KEO Films, the company behind Banksy’s Oscar-nominated Exit Through The Gift Shop, will also be speaking at the festival.
Now in its 18th year but moving to a new timeslot, this year’s edition of Doc/Fest will take place in Sheffield from June 8-12.
