Soda Pictures will include a short made by UK children on its DVD release for Azur & Asmar: The Princes' Quest.

As part of the First Light Movies scheme, a group of five-year-olds from Hartside Primary School in Crook, County Durham, made the short digital animation last year with £2,700 of National Lottery funding.

The short, The Princess And The Pendant, will be an extra on the DVD for Michel Ocelot's Azur & Asmar: The Princes' Quest, out from July 28.

Kate Gerova, head of distribution at Soda Pictures said: 'Soda Pictures is delighted that the enchanting The Princess and the Pendant could be included on the DVD. Azur & Asmar: The Princes' Quest is a truly stunning film and The Princess and the Pendant is a fitting addition to a great package'
