Danny Boyle's UK-US adventure romance Slumdog Millionaire and Mark Herman's UK-US Holocaust tale The Boy In The Striped Pajamas were awarded the 44th Chicago International Film Festival's Audience Choice Awards

Audiences chose the winners after more than 170 films from more than 45 countries screened at the festival.

The festival ran from October 16-29. The 45th Chicago International Film Festival will be held from October 8-21, 2009.
