Spanish rights and acquisitions house Sogepaq has picked up all rights for Spain on forthcoming Nora Ephron film Numbers, produced by Paramount and set to star John Travolta, Lisa Kudrow, Tim Roth and Bill Pullman.

The pick-up was made through the joint acquisitions venture which Sogepaq launched last October with Canal Plus Image, subsidiary of the Canal Plus Group. Sogepaq owns 49% and Canal Plus Image 51% of the joint venture.

Numbers is the second film Sogepaq has acquired with Canal Plus Image, after the DreamWorks SKG-financed Chicken Run. Ephron directs the film, a comedy about a down-on-his-luck weather-man who plots a lottery heist.

Thanks in part to a substantial budget increase, Sogepaq has relaunched its acquisitions activities over the last year. Under the general management of Margaret Nicoll, the company picked up rights to Icon Entertainment's Bless The Child and When The Sky Falls, and Seven Arts Entertainment's The Cup and Morton Orwell.

Sogepaq umbrella organization Sogecable closed a 16-picture deal in March with DreamWorks for pay-per-view rights for its digital TV platform Canal Satelite Digital.
