Bae Chang-ho's South Korean picture The Road won best feature and Peter Raymont'sRwandan story Shake Hands With The Devil won best documentary honours at the 2005 Philadelphia FilmFestival, which closed on Apr 20.

Audience awards went to Andres Wood's Chilean political drama Machuca for best feature and Marilyn Agrelo'sSlamdance sensation Mad Hot Ballroom for best documentary.

Miranda July's Me And You And Everyone We Know won the Archie award for best firstfeature, named after the Philadelphia Film Society's late founding board memberArchie Perlmutter.

The late Dutch director Theo Van Gogh was named best director for Cool!, while by Jonathan Nix'sAustralian entry Hellowon best animated short, and Nimrod Antal's Hungarian thriller Kontroll was named Best Danger After Dark Film.

Festivalorganisers claimed the event drew a record 65,101 admissions this year, nearly4,000 more than last year's event. This year's festival ran from Apr 7-20.
