Two-year-old independentSpanish film distributor Notro Films is flexing its muscle with ten new titlesacquired at the recent American Film Market.

The AFM pick-ups includethree titles each from Horizon and HanWay, another two from Shochiku and oneeach from Myriad and Fabrication Films. They range from Anne Hathaway-starrer Becoming Jane and Sarah Polley-directed Away From Her to Bruce Beresford's A Woman Of NoImportance and Michael Rapaport starrer Special.

Also among the acquisitionsare Trent Carlson's The Delicate Art Of Parking, Ham Trans' Journey From The Fall, and Terry Gilliam's Tideland, which walked away from the film festival in San Sebastian, Spain a year ago with a Fipresci prize but no local distributor.

Following in its line ofgenre cinema from Asia, Notro also acquired Yoji Yamada's trilogy ender Love And Honor;Ghost Train; and the third entry inthe horror series One Missed Call: Final.The original One Missed Call was oneof Notro's first releases in Spain.
Since its September 2004 launch, Notro's niche has been self-described "popularart-house" works with crossover potential. The distributor has previouslyhandled an average six to eight releases annually.
