Spanish distributor Vertigo Films has acquired rights to theDardenne brothers' Palme d'Or winner The Child and Francois Ozon's UnCertain Regard screener Le Temps Qui Reste.

Together with previous acquisitions made by Vertigo chiefAndres Martin earlier this year, the distributor now boasts a strong slate ofCannes titles including Jim Jarmusch's Grand Jury Prize-winner BrokenFlowers, Dominik Moll's inaugural film Lemming, Gus Van Sant's LastDays and Cristian Carion's Merry Christmas (Joyeux Noel).

Vertigo confirms that Lemming will screen at theupcoming Sitges Film Festival in Spain, while Merry Christmas is plannedfor a seasonal release on December 2.

Citing its loyalty to filmmakers, Vertigo was the Spanishdistributor on Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne's last three films, Ozon's 5x2 and SwimmingPool, Jarmusch's Ghost Dog, Van Sant's Elephant and Moll's Harry,He's Here To Help.
