Sony Pictures Classics will schedule a qualifying run for its Toronto-bound Maggie Smith starrer The Lady In The Van.
Former head of the National Theatre Nicholas Hytner directs from Alan Bennett’s autobiographical screenplay about his friendship with a women who parked her broken van in his London driveway for 15 years.
Alex Jennings also stars in The Lady In The Van, which gets its world premiere Special Presentation screening in Toronto on September 12.
The cast includes Frances de la Tour, Roger Allam, Dominic Cooper, Jim Broadbent and James Corden.
Damian Jones and Kevin Loader produced with Hytner, whose directing credits include The History Boys and The Madness Of King George.
SPC will distribute in North America after the qualifying run.
