The Producer’s Guild Of America will present Steven Spielberg with the achievement award at its 23rd annual awards ceremony on Jan 21 2912.
The accolade is timely given that the lauded filmmaker will be in the thick of awards season. Spielberg directed War Horse for his reconstituted DreamWorks studio and the film is expected to be an Oscar contender. Buena Vista will launch in the US on Dec 28 and handles worldwide distribution.
Spielberg also directed the 3D animated film The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn, which Paramount will release on Dec 23. Sony will release internationally.
Spielberg is scheduled to commence production in October on Lincoln.
