Strand Releasing has acquired North American rights to JulianGoldberger's The Hawk Is Dying which had its world premiere at Sundance this year and alsoplayed in Directors' Fortnight at Cannes.

The deal was concluded between Jon Gerrans of Strand with JeffLevy-Hinte of the film's production company Strand Releasing. Also representingthe film were Rich Klubeck of UTA and Sue Bodine of Epstein, Levinsohn, Bodine,Hurwitz and Weinstein.

The film stars PaulGiamatti, Michael Pitt and Michelle Williams in the story of an autoupholsterer who attempts to train and tame a wild, hawk. It is Goldberger'ssecond film after Trans.

The film was producedby Levy-Hinte and Mary Jane Skalski. Katapult Film Sales is handlinginternational rights.
