US independent sets spring 2010 release for Chinese drama which played in competition at Cannes and is in TIFF this week.

The deal marks the second time Strand has collaborated with Lou following the US release of Suzhou River in late 2000.

Spring Fever premiered in Cannes where it earned Feng Mei the best screenplay award for the story of a woman discovers her husband is having an affair with a man.

Strand Releasing’s Marcus Hu and Jon Gerrans negotiated the deal with Carole Baraton of Wild Bunch. Nai An, Sylvain Bursztejn, Dream Factory HK and Rosem Films produced.

Strand recently acquired Andre Techine’s drama The Girl On A Train starring Catherine Deneuve and Michel Blanc.
