The Sundance Institute and the Sundance Channel have signed a content deal with iTunes whereby a broad selection of narrative, documentary and animation shorts from the upcoming 2007 Sundance Film Festival will be available for download.

The shorts will become available from Jan 22 and downloads will be priced at $1.99 each. Free podcasts from the festival will also be on offer, including panel discussions and live music.

'I have felt, from the earliest days, that if people really care about independent film, they should pay particular attention to short film-makers, who are the best indicators of what is coming down the creative pike,' Sundance Institute founder Robert Redford said.

Sundance Institute will continue to stream a selection of short films online, free of charge, on the Sundance Film Festival website at www.sundance.org.

These short films will be posted after they have screened at the Festival, beginning Jan 18 and continuing for three months until Apr 18.
