Oscar-winning Dutch producer First Floor Features and its sister company First Floor Films have been granted suspension of payment by the Amsterdam local court.

During the suspension, which ends March 24th, company trustee Paul Schaink, affiliated to Lawyer's office Van Doorne, will assess the company's financial situation and future.

Schaink says there are two options: "Either the suspension of payment will enroll into a bankruptcy, or a deal will be struck with the creditors."

The future of three as-yet-unproduced titles, handled by First Floor producer Laurens Geels, remains uncertain. Schaink states that legally, slate could remain active, but that "the participating banks do not consider that a very good idea".

Schaink doesn't exclude the possibility of Views And Sounds, Scent Of Books and The Intruder (De Infiltrant) from being made, "since some preparations have already been made for production, though I consider it more likely for them to be sold separately."
