Hilary Swank, the Golden Globe-winning actress who is leading the Oscar race for her portrayal of Brandon Teena, has been named "Female Star Of Tomorrow" at this year's ShoWest 2000.

She will receive the award at the event's March 9 ceremony at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, joining other winners who include Drew Barrymore (Comedy Star Of The Year), Anthony Minghella (Director Of The Year) and Jim Carrey (Male Star Of The Year).

Meanwhile Tim Warner, president of Cinemark International, has been named International Exhibitor Of the Year, an award which he will receive on the event's International Day on March 6.

20th Century Fox also announced this week that a full length screening of its forthcoming Nathalie Portman/Ashley Judd starrer Where The Heart Is will take place at ShoWest on March 8. It is unusual for studios to unveil full-length features at the event, although Buena Vista delighted exhibitors last year with a sneak preview of Tarzan.
