Richard Jobson, screenwriter and director of 16 Years of Alcohol and The Purifiers, is to launch his latest film A Woman In Winter, through Tartan Films, with a UK tour stretching from the film's setting, Edinburgh, to London.

As well as screenings of the film, the former frontman of the punk band The Skids will be hosting Q&A sessions, and in-depth masterclasses. Bookings confirmed so far are events at the Edinburgh Cameo from February 6-11, the Glasgow Film Theatre on March 4, and at the Belfast Film Festival on March 28-29. London dates are to be released soon.

A Woman in Winter , a sci-fi romance between a physicist and a French photographer, was filmed digitally. Its release will coincide with the opening of a Digital Film School, headed by Jobson, in Bedfordshire. There he will be teaching screenwriting and digital cinema master classes to emerging film-makers.

A Woman In Winter 's DVD release follows April 9.
