Telepool has picked up international sales on two theatrical music documentaries: Thomas Riedelsheimer's Heartbeat and Gandulf Hennig's Fallen Angel - Gram Parsons.

Riedelsheimer, who received a Golden Lola at the German Film Awards this year for his internationally successful documentary Rivers And Tides, has been working since autumn 2002 on a portrait of the deaf Scottish percussionist virtuoso Evelyn Glennie.

The film, which has shot in California, Japan and New York, is being produced by Filmquadrat with UK production house Skyline, Riedelsheimer's partner on Rivers And Tides.

Meanwhile, Hennig and Alfred Holighaus' Berlin/Dusseldorf-based production outfit Spothouse TV will be collaborating with German public broadcasters such as Bayerischer Rundfunk and the BBC on the documentary about Parson's eventful life, the bizarre circumstances of his untimely death in September 1973 and his legacy for popular music. Mark Cooper, creative head of BBC Music Entertainment, will serve as executive producer on the film which will be released in German cinemas in early 2004.
