Hong Kong’s Celestial Pictures has signed carriage deals with Indonesia’s Skynindo PT for its pay-TV channels Celestial Movies and Celestial Classic Movies.
The deal marks the first time that Celestial Classic Movies has been made available in Indonesia and its fourth territory after Hong Kong, Singapore and Vietnam.
Celestial Movies, which screens recent Chinese and other Asian blockbusters, is already available in Indonesia via pay-TV platforms Indovision and Telkomvision.
“Skynindo is glad to add both Celestial Movies and Celestial Classic Movies to our roster of channels,” said Krestian, director of PT Cipta Skynindo. “The addition of these movie channels helps strengthen our Chinese-language programming, allowing us to offer an unparalleled selection of current hits and legendary classics to our viewers in Indonesia.”
Skynindo, a start-up satellite pay-TV operator in Indonesia’s fast-growing pay-TV market, launched on Jan 1 with more than 70 channels. It will add Celestial Movies and Celestial Classic Movies to its basic package.
