Following its recent acquisition of animated feature Ramayana, Warner Bros Pictures India has acquired another Hindi film, Dus Tola, which it plans to release on October 22.

Produced by Aryan Brothers Entertainment, Dus Tola is described as a family drama and a “slice of life film inspired by folk tales” with a message of the triumph of good over greed.

Warner Bros will distribute the film with 350 prints in India. The film is directed by Ajoy and stars Manoj Bajpayee, Aarti Chhabria, Siddharth Makkar, Govind Namdeo and Asrani among others. Ajoy’s first film SRK was also picked up by Warner Bros in 2008, but that film has not yet been released.

Dus Tola is the first production from Aryan Brothers which is actively involved in the fields of art, farming and education. The company, which is making its foray into cinema under the banner of Aryan Brothers Entertainment, plans to make two to three films every year and launch a TV channel.

Producer Kunwar Pragy Arya says: “Ajoy has done a fantastic job in bringing this story to life. We are confident of touching the audience’s hearts and winning box office gold. We are very proud to be associated with Warner Bros Pictures.”

Denzil Dias, deputy manager director (theatrical), Warner Bros Pictures adds: “Dus Tola is a humorous take on how gold affects our life and relationships. The audiences will enjoy this lighthearted family entertainer which has a positive message.”
