In early October Tre Vänner will also start production on Mastermind, a heist film about a criminal about to pull off a big bank job with some of the best criminals in Sweden. The director and cast will be announced shortly.

“Genre-wise it’s more kind of Headhunters than Snabba Cash,” Tre Vänner’s head of film Fredrik Wikström Nicastro told ScreenDaily at Gothenburg’s Way Out West festival, where Snabba Cash III – Life Deluxe was world premiering.

Wikström Nicastro is producing both The Boy With The Golden Trousers and Mastermind.

Tre Vänner is gearing up for the Swedish release on August 30 of Life Deluxe through Nordisk Film. Directed by Jens Jonsson, the film is the final entry in the trilogy based on Jens Lapidus’ crime novels. A co-production with Norway the $5.5m film was shot in Sweden, Mexico and the US. TrustNordisk is selling internationally.

The company is developing the US remake of Snabba Cash, which it is producing with Charles Roven’s Atlas Entertainment for Warner Bros. Zac Efron is attached to star.

The Stockholm-based company, founded in 1995 by screenwriters Michael Hjorth, Johan Kindblom and Tomas Tivemark, is also currently in post production on its first animated feature, Christian Ryltenius’ Bamse And The City Of Thieves. A mix of digital and hand-drawn animation the film will be released in January.
