France's TF1 International has acquired Suso's Tower heading into festival season.

The film is in selection at San Sebastian and is directed by Tom Fernandez with Javier Camara, Gonzalo De Castro, Cesar Vea and Jose Luis Alcobendas making up the cast. Produced by Mediapro, the film tells the story of Cundo who returns home following ten years' absence upon the death of his best friend. TF1 International is handling worldwide rights except Spain.

Also on TF1's slate is Flying Lessons which will screen in the Focus On World Cinema section of the Montreal Film Festival. Directed by Francesca Archibugi, and starring Giovanna Mezzogiorno, the film is produced by Cattleya in collaboration with RAI Cinema. TF1 has worldwide rights outside France and Italy.

Selected in Venice Days, TF1 is presenting Shall We Kiss, which screens Sept 4. A top-notch cast is led by Virginie Ledoyen, Stefano Accorsi and Julie Gayet. Emmanuel Mouret, who directed the film, also has a role in the romantic comedy.

Mutum, by Sandra Koguy, will screen in the Contemporary World Cinema Program at Toronto. The film is set in Brazil and is a coming of age story that stars Thiago da Silva Mariz, Walisson Felipe Leal Barroso, Luis Carlos Vasconcelos and Flavio Bauraqui.

The Besieged Fortress will run in the Sprockets Family Zone section in Toronto. Philippe Calderon directed this wildlife film which stars real insects as they fight to save their environment after a deluge of tropical storms. The film has been sold in 25 territories, including the US where the Weinstein Company will handle the release.

On the market side, other new films on the line up include Johnny Mad Dog from producers Mathieu Kassovitz and Benoit Jaubert. Directed by Jean-Stephane Sauvaire, the English-language film about African child soldiers is based on Emmanuel Dongala's novel of the same name and stars Christopher Minie and Daisie Victoria Vandy.

Off And Running comes from Tonie Marshall and stars Nathalie Baye and Edouard Baer. The bittersweet, comic road movie will be ready for delivery in early 2008.

Thriller Crossfire is directed by Claude-Michel Rome and stars Richard Berry, Pascal Elbe and Zabou Breitman. Produced by Philippe Roussellet and Etienne Comar, the film centers on a gang that has freed a notorious criminal from his heavily-armed escort and the disillusioned cops that are energized by the case.

The previously-announced In The Electric Mist by Bertrand Tavernier stars Tommy Lee Jones, John Goodman, Peter Sarsgaard and Kelly MacDonald. Set in Louisiana, the English-language thriller is currently in post-production and will be ready next year.

Tran Anh Hung's I Come With The Rain is also in post-production and stars Josh Hartnett as an ex-cop from LA who is hired by a corporate boss to go to the Philippines and find his missing son. With music by Radiohead and Gustavo Santaolalla (Babel, Brokeback Mountain), this modern thriller 'explores the fine line between carnal passion and violence and plunges us into an exotic urban world of gritty realism and sensual beauty,' according to TF1.

Eric Besnard's Ca$h stars Jean Reno, Valeria Golino, Jean Dujardin and Alice Taglioni. Produced by Patrice Ledoux, the French-language con-artist story centers on two rivals trying to settle a score.

Also on the line up is Female Agents starring Sophie Marceau as part of a commando unit that parachutes into occupied France during World War II. Co-starring Julie Depardieu and Marie Gillain, the film is slated for release early in 2008 and is directed by Jean-Paul Salome

And, nearing completion is Philippe Calderon's White Tuft, The Little Beaver which follows the adventures of a beaver family in the Candian woods. Starring real animals, the film uses new techniques to provide original, never-before-seen images.

Completed films include Payoff 2 from Gilles Paquet-Brenner, UV from the same director and Commediasexi from Alessandro D'Alatri
