John Hindman's romantic comedy The Answer Man (formerly Arlen Faber) starring Jeff Daniels and Benoit Pilon's Canadian drama The Necessities Of Life bookend the 12th annual Sonoma International Film Festival, set to run from April 1-5.

All in all more than 75 pictures will screen at the Northern California event featuring entries from 22 countries, among them Lee Cheol-Ha's South Korean drama Story Of Wine and Anna Melikyan's Russian fantasy-drama Mermaid.

The roster includes Eran Riklis' Israeli drama Lemon Tree, Anne Fontaine's French comedy The Girl From Monaco starring Cesar nominees Roschdy Zem and Louise Bourgoin, and Robert Kenner's documentary Food, Inc.

Programme highlights are expected to include a tribute and lifetime achievement award to Bruce Willis, a panel on pitching with screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen, whose credits include Taken, Gladiator and The Karate Kid, and live musical accompaniment by concert pianist and silent movie composer Donald Sosin to Allan Dwan's 1922 Robin Hood starring Douglas Fairbanks and Chinese director Wancang Bu's The Peach Girl from 1931.
