The Sarasota Film Festival, which runs April 4-13, will open with Steven Schachter's comedy The Deal starring William H Macy and Meg Ryan and close with Stuart Townsend's Battle In Seattle set as the closing night film. Stanley Tucci's Blind Date has been named as the centerpiece film.

The Lives Of Others director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck will be presented with the Breakthrough Award presented by United Artists CEO Paula Wagner.

Other films screening at Sarasota include Joseph Cedar's Beaufort, Jeremy Podeswa's Fugitive Pieces, Azazel Jacobs' Momma's Man, Harmony Korine's Mister Lonely, Daniel Barnz's Phoebe In Wonderland and Tom Kalin's Savage Grace.
