The Home Song Stories, The Jammed and Happy Feet were the three films that went home with the most honours from the Inside Film (IF) Awards, held tonight on Queensland's Gold Coast.

The self-financed film The Jammed won best film, and best script for writer-director Dee McLachlan, while The Home Song Stories won the most awards including best director for Tony Ayres, and best actor awards for Joel Lok and Joan Chen.

The Jammed is a tough story about sex slavery that spawned a new distribution company because none of the country's existing distributors would pick up the film.

The Home Song Stories tells of the Ayres family's first few years in Australia: Lok was only 11 years old when he played the role of Tony Ayres, and Chen played his mother.

Happy Feet won the box office acheivement award and its director George Miller won the living legend award.

The Adelaide Film Festival won the film festival award.
