The Last Samurai smashedthrough $250m at the weekend as it added an estimated $17.5m from all itsmarkets for a $272.1m international running total.

Distributed through WarnerBros Pictures Int'l, the drama grossed $11.2m in Europe and $2.5m in Japan, whereits total is now a staggering $105m.

This latest updated gross means The Last Samurai has become the biggest R-rated picture in Japan on Yen 11.5bn, surpassing The Matrix Reloaded, another Warner Bros picture, which finished on Yen11bn.

The romantic comedy Something'sGotta Give grossed $8.2m, including $6.4m from its European campaign launch fora $18.7m international running total.

It opened in second place inthe UK on $2.2m, which is roughly 32% higher than the opening of As Good As ItGets.

Italy opened in third placeon $1.7m, which according to the distributor is 200% higher than the opening ofAs Good As It Gets.

Something's Gotta Give took$1.7m in France and opened fourth.
