In other market highlights, Mr And Mrs Smith has taken more than $21m in Germanythrough Kinowelt, is approaching $10m in the CIS through Central Partnership,and ranks as the biggest picture of all time in Jordan, taking aremarkable $2.7m in the Middle East overall through Gulf.

Those latest totals mean that, as of Aug 16, the picture'soverseas takes stood at more than $201m through all its distributors. Of thattotal, $143m has come through Fox International, which has a worldwide distributiondeal with Regency.

New Line International's Wedding Crashers was the life and soul of the party in Australia as it opened number one on a memorable $3.3m on 391 screens.

The comedy also opened top in New Zealand on $355,456 and has grossed $30.6m to date. In the UK alone it has amassed $20.1m.

Charliedebuted on $639,121, while overall the picture added $13.9m on more than 3,500screens in 30 markets for a $91.5m international running total. The UK alonehas produced an exceptional running total of $45.5m.
