London-based sales company The WorksInternational has acquired the international sales rights to Michael Winterbottom's TheRoad to Guantanamo, which will premiere incompetition at the Berlin Film Festival.

The film is based on the true storyof four British men who travel from the UK to Pakistan to attend a wedding, just after 9/11. They are suspected as terrorists,tortured, and imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay.

The film is co-directed by Mat Whitecross, and stars newcomers RizwanAhmed, Farhad Harun, Arfan Usman, and Waqar Siddiqui.

The Road To Guantanamo, which is still in post-production, was shot on location in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran.

Andrew Eaton and Melissa Parmenter produced for Revolution Films, with Channel 4financing in association with Screen West Midlands.
