Toronto and New York-basedNorth American distributor ThinkFilm is launching a child-oriented specialtydivision, ThinkFilm Kids, to tap what it calls the expanding "KidVid" DVDmarket children under nine years of age. The division will concentrate oneducational product and has two franchise series available at launch, Braincandy and My First Day.

ThinkFilm president andchief executive officer Jeff Sackman told Screendaily.com that there are noimmediate plans to distribute direct-to-video features through ThinkFilm Kids,but neither would he rule out the possibility. "We'll establish this brand andsee what comes our way," he said.

It's the second specialtydivision for the company. Velocity Home Entertainment division is adirect-to-video arm specialising in genre titles.
