French feature Switch, UK production Hunky Dory and Italian Metafisica Per Le Scimmie were newly added to Screenbase.

Shooting on Frédéric Schoendoerffer’s latest film, Switch is currently underway in Canada. The film commenced shooting in Paris in early August and will wrap on Sept 22. Jointly written by the director and Jean-Christophe Grangé, the thriller centres on a fashion illustrator who is accused of murder after switching her apartment in Montreal for one in Paris during her holiday. The cast includes Karina Testa, Eric Cantona and Aurélien Recoing. Eric Névé produces for Carcharodon, and the film also received co-production support from France 2 Cinema, Pathé, Tercera Prod and Jouror. Pathé will handle international sales and distribution.

Swansea, Wales currently hosts the production Hunky Dory, a mix of musical and comedy about a high school drama teacher who decides that the show at the end of the year will be a rock and roll version of The Tempest. Marc Evans directs from a script by Laurence Coriat. The film stars Minnie Driver and Aneurin Barnard and is produced by Jon Finn and Dan Lupovitz. Independent handles international sales, with eOne Films distributing across the UK.

Metafisica Per Le Scimmie, the new film by Marina Spada, has started its seven week shoot in Italy last week. Part of the shoot will also take place in Greece. The thriller is about a woman who seemingly leads a balanced life with a successful career, a solid relationship with her partner as well as with her family. Yet, all is not what it seems. Spada wrote the script together with Daniele Maggioni and Maria Grazia Perria. The film is produced by Francesco Pamphili for Film Kairos. Rai Cinema co-produces. Claudia Gerini, Raffaele Pisu, Claudia Coli, Lino Guanciale and Paolo Pierobon head the cast.
