The Toronto International Film Festival Group (TIFFG) hasestablished a children's international film collection following a $500,000 donationfrom the Toronto-based Harbinger Foundation.

The unprecedented collection lays the groundwork for thedevelopment of TIFFG youth education programmes and will be named the John VanDuzerChildren's Film Collection in honour of Harbinger Foundation president JoanVanDuzer's late husband and family court judge.

The collection will comprise classic and contemporary films fromcountries and cultures around the world, and will be used for festival centreprogramming and events, and will be made available to outside institutions.

In recognitionof the gift, TIFFG will create an endowment fund to support the yearlyacquisition of film prints, education rights, storage, maintenance, cataloguingand preparation.
