Former TLA Releasing duo Rich Wolff and Richard Ross today have launched the North American distributor Breaking Glass Pictures, aimed at bringing an eclectic roster of films to theatres.

The initial slate features Anna Brownfield’s rock film The Band as well as Everett Lewis’ Lucky Bastard, about a man whose life spirals out of control when he falls for a street hustler.

Coming in early 2010 is Morgan J Freeman’s road movie Just Like The Son starring Rosie Perez and Mark Webber.

The company will also provide service deals and has begun to seek distribution agreements.

Breaking Glass will also distribute up to 12 titles a year through its new extreme label Vicious Circle Films. The slate includes Hanger from director Ryan Nicholson and Joseph Guzman’s Run Bitch Run.

Wolff was a partner and director of acquisitions at TLA Releasing and will serve as CEO and co-president of Breaking Glass Pictures, while Ross, TLA’s former director of North American and UK sales, becomes co-president and director of domestic and international sales.
