Former Venice chief Alberto Barbera, currently head of the National Film Museum in Turin, is lining up a complete retrospective of the works of Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami, entitled On The Roads of Kiarostami.

The event will run between September 10 and October 12th in Turin. All of Kiarostami's 30 films, both feature-length and shorts will be screened, including films that have never before been seen outside Iran.

Kiarostami will also host a 10-day workshop for 25 young filmmakers and videomakers who will produce digital shorts after being selected with a national competition.

Also on display will be two new photographic exhibitions by the filmmaker, two video installations, an unreleased series of digital short films and a new collection of his poetry.

The event, which is curated by Barbera and Italian industry veteran Elisa Resegotti, is backed by the National Film Museum, the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, the Scuola Holden-Tecniche della narrazione, and local authorities.
