WarnerBros' romantic comedy Two Weeks Notice grossed an estimated $5.7m from 914screens in nine countries over the weekend, generating 837,000 admissions. Inthe highlight performance, the picture opened at number one in the UK on $4.3m(£2.64m) - including previews - from 414 venues. It was female leadSandra Bullock's best ever UK bow, beating Miss Congeniality by 41% and Speed by 29%, although its success can also beattributed to local hero Hugh Grant in the other lead role. In Thailand TwoWeeks Notice opened insecond place and took $195,000 (Baht 8.3m) from 32 prints, scoring the biggestever opening in the territory for Hugh Grant. The opening beat BridgetJones's Diary by30%, Notting Hill by46% and About A Boyby 36%.

In ThePhilippines the picture opened in Metro Manila a close second behind theChinese-language epic Hero on $210,000 (PhP 11.3m) from 20 prints, outperforming About ABoy by 195% and BridgetJones by 68%. To date TwoWeeks Notice has grossed$17.2m at the international box office. It is due to be released in Bolivia,Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, Peru and Switzerland on Feb 13 and in Austria,Italy, Korea, Mexico, Norway and South Africa on Feb 14.

Harry PotterAnd The Chamber Of Secretsboosted its international cumulative score to $582.4m after a $2.6m weekendhaul from 2,846 screens in 50 territories with 505,000 admissions. The familysequel has grossed $85.2m in the UK, $59.6m in Germany, $50.5m in France,$23.4m in Italy and a stunning $134.9m in Japan. In other results it has taken$23.5m in Spain, $20.6m in Australia, $19.7m in Korea, $17m in Mexico and$10.3m in Taiwan.
