The UK Film Council's Development Fund has announced the latest round of projects it is supporting with National Lottery awards.

The projects being funded include spy satire Blowback, which is written by Rupert Walters and will be produced by Stephen Garrett and Paul Webster at Kudos. That film gets $121,892 (£62,500).

Other awards went to writer/director Sam Walker's Bad Dog, a UK horror film co-written by Rob Morgan. Allan Niblo and Brock Norman Brock will produce for Vertigo Films. That got $26,816 (£13,750).

Other funding of $34,129 (£17,500) went to James Henry's American super-hero script Hero Trip. Henry is known as a writer on Channel4's Green Wing.

Finally, the Development Fund is backing Fizzle with $40,873 (£20,960). That project, a family animation script by writer Richard Vincent set up at production company Cosgrove Hall, originated from the UKFC's 25 Words Or Less scheme.
