Janine Gold has been promoted to head of FilmFour's sales arm, FilmFour International (FFI).

Gold, previously head of sales, replaces Sue Bruce-Smith, who left earlier this year to join Irish-based production outfit Little Bird. The former Celluloid Dreams executive is recruiting a film sales manager.

FFI has also boosted sales co-ordinator Libby Hughes, promoted to film sales executive. Amanda Street steps down as film sales executive to become creative manager at music publishing company Music Copyright Solutions.

"Janine has worked with FilmFour for a year and a half now and I can't tell you how excited I am that she has agreed to step up and run FilmFour International," said FilmFour chief executive Paul Webster. "Immaculate taste, oozing charm and an honest but firm negotiator; what more could you hope for'"

Gold has been responsible for selling Charlotte Gray, Crush and Lucky Break. Along with brokering a multi-title deal with Spain's Alta films, she recently secured a multi-territory deal with Miramax Films for The Warrior.
