London-based One Eyed Films,a sales boutique specializing in Latin American cinema, is launching aproduction arm at Cannes.

The first film on the slateis a $1.2m Buenos Aires- and Rio-set sexual coming-of-age drama called FromThe Beginning To The End. Brazilianwriter-director Aluizio Abranches (The Three Marias) is behind the project.

One Eyed Films managingdirector Betina Goldman and new production head Rosie Bilton are also seekingpost-production finance on The Body,a stylish thriller about the perfectly preserved body of a woman found in amass grave of torture victims of the Argentinean dictatorship some 30 yearsearlier.

The Body, which was produced by Brazil's Paulo Boccato forGlaz Cinema, has a rough cut available and participated in the Produire au Sudprogram at Nantes last year.

New to One Eyed's salesslate is a feature-length documentary on Brazil's legendary sambandido andgangsta rapper Bezerrra de Silva, who died last year.
