French film export body Unifrance has unveiled the programme for its annual promotional event in the UK, the Renault French Film Season.

In partnership with the French Institute of London and exhibitor UGC UK, Unifrance will underwrite a tour of the UK by four French films that are soon to start their UK theatrical releases. (Previous promo events in the UK were sponsored by drinks group Martell.) Talent and directors from the four films will travel to London on March 25 and the following day will head to Glasgow.

The films included are Jean-Paul Rappeneau's heavily Cesar-nominated Bon Voyage, Yann Samuel's smash hit Jeux d'Enfants, Fanny Ardant-Emmanuelle Beart vehicle Nathalie and Alain Resnais' Pas Sur La Bouche.

The objective is to spotlight the upcoming releases and will be followed by concentrated promotional efforts and premieres in different English cities.

Unifrance says that in 2003 the 40 French productions and co-productions released in the UK sold 1.3 million tickets, representing one of the best years for French film in the territory with admissions up 50% on the previous year.
