Reacting to the phenomenal growth of the DVD market worldwide, Universal Pictures International (UPI) has announced the reversion of DVD distribution rights from Columbia Tri-Star Home Video, as a three-year agreement between the two studios comes to an end.

Under the 1999 deal CTHV acquired international DVD distribution rights to Universal titles outside North America, with UPI retaining international video rights.

Meanwhile, in a separate deal, Universal has entered an exclusive multiyear licensing deal with the UK's ITV1 for terrestrial rights to the studio's 2001-2003 theatrical titles - including product from Working Title as well as feature film and television library titles.

Terrestrial film premieres covered by the deal include: About A Boy The Mummy Returns Ali G Indahouse, Hannibal as well as the forthcoming The Hulk and Red Dragon.
