Hong Kongproducer-distributor Universe Entertainment has added 21 Feet, veteran filmmaker Tony Au's first project asdirector in more than a decade, to the sales slate it is offering buyers at this week's Filmart convention.

The $2.5m drama isabout a boy from Hong Kong who moves to China's Hainan island with his fatherto start a new life. The project, which is currently being cast, is scheduledto start shooting in June.

Au was a contemporary ofHong Kong New Wave directors such as an Ann Hui and Stanley Kwan and hascredits including 1983's Last Affair starring Chow Yun-Fat and Carol Cheng. He was also production designeron classics such as Kwan's Womenand Hui's Love In A Fallen City.

Universe's slate alsoincludes an untitled $9m action film from Benny Chan (Divergence), due to start filming in August; Johnnie Tosuspense thriller The Sparrow,currently in production for year-end release; and the latest horror effort fromthe Pang Brothers, Recycle,scheduled for a pan-Asian release on July 6.
