Vivendi Entertainment has paid low seven figures for all domestic rights to Lee Daniels Entertainment's Southern drama Tennessee starring Mariah Carey that premiered at Tribeca in April.

Aaron Woodley directed the story of two brothers who travel from New Mexico to Tennessee to find their estranged father. Carey plays an aspiring singer who befriends them.

Ethan Peck, Adam Rothenberg and Lance Reddick round out the key cast. Vivendi plans a December theatrical release.

Josh Braun of Submarine negotiated the deal with Vivendi's Yolanda Macias. Attorney Jonathan Gray of Gary Krauss and CAA also represented the film-makers.
