Warner Bros has taken North American rights to GK Films' upcoming Mel Gibson thriller Edge Of Darkness, which is currently in post-production.

GK had financed the film without a US distributor attached.

Martin Campbell directed the story based on the BBC mini-series of the same name. Gibson plays a Boston homicide detective who uncovers a world of corporate cover-ups and government collusion when he investigates the murder of his only child on the steps of their home. Ray Winstone, Danny Huston, Bojana Novakovic and Shawn Roberts also star.

William Monahan and Andrew Bovell wrote the screenplay from an original story by Troy Kennedy Martin. Graham King and Michael Wearing are producing and Gail Lyon, E Bennett Walsh, Tim Headington, Dan Rissner, Suzanne Warren and David Thompson serve as executive producers.

Principal photography wrapped last November in Boston and other locations in Massachusetts. GK Films is handling international sales.
