Warner Entertainment Japan has announced the launch of a newDVD label specialising in Asian films.

Called Spicy Asia, the label will be overseen by the WarnerHome Video division.

The first two titles, Kim Sung-su's 2001 period drama MusaThe Warrior and Chung Ji Woo's 1999 romantic drama Happy End, willbe released on August 6.

This marks a first for Warner Home Video, which hadpreviously specialised in Warner Brothers releases.

In its announcement Warner Entertainment Japan noted that"the Asian film industry is moving from strength to strength" andsaid that it intended to "lead the Asian film boom in Japan."

Spicy Asia will also release Lee Si-myung's 2001 futuristicthriller Lost Memories and Lee Jong-hyuk's 2002 psycho-thriller H onAugust 27.

All four titles will be priced at $28.71 (Y3,129).

Meanwhile, Warner Entertainment Japan has several Asianfilms on its 2004 line-up including Zhang Yi-mou's Lovers and Johnny Toand Wai Ka-Fai's Turn Left, Turn Right
